PEM fuel cell systems
The PEM fuel cell systems designed by JALVASUB stand out for their high energy efficiency, low-temperature operation, low noise and vibration levels, compact size, rapid response to variations in electrical demand, and modular design. We have developed an innovative PEM module configuration with useful areas greater than 400 cm² and reduced length, offering a highly safe design thanks to its gas tightness and electrical performance comparable to the leading solutions available on the market.
We currently offer PEM modules with capacities of 1, 5, 10, and 50 kW, which have been successfully tested with different types of hydrogen: pure hydrogen, hydrogen obtained by reforming bioethanol or biogas, and hydrogen produced by ammonia dissociation. Their modular architecture allows for flexible combination of several units, adapting the total power to the specific needs of the customer, from low-power applications to generation systems of several hundred kilowatts. This flexibility allows our customers to select the most suitable power and fuel source, ensuring reliable, safe, and highly efficient solutions for power generation or propulsion applications in maritime environments and other advanced sectors.
At JALVASUB, we also design, assemble, and validate Balance of Plant (BOP) elements to ensure the proper functioning of the fuel cell module.
